The role of Faith Leaders in achieving a Ban on Nuclear Weapons

The Peace Justice & Empowerment Movement organised the 2nd London Interfaith Meeting commemorating the 71st Anniversary Bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki - Organized by JEPEF & ICAN.

This year meeting brought together around 100 participants including senior faith leaders, diplomatic community,civil society organisations and young people and no doubt louded the consistent voices of different faith organisations bring to bear our moral leadership in an Interfaith and Intercultural interactions and also engagement and note sharing in addressing one of the major treat to our existence as Humans. Speakers includes the World Council of Churches Director of International Affairs Mr Peter Prove, Spokesperson of Green Party of UK Reecca Johnson, Representative of the Anglican Communion Rev Omoworare among st others . In his welcome address at the meeting the JEPEF Chairman His Holiness, the Most Revd. Dr. Rufus Okikiola OSITELU, the Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of The Church of the Lord (Prayer Fellowship) Worldwide. said,we believe that using the energy of the atom in ways that threaten and destroy life is a sinful misuse of the fundamental building blocks of God's creation and this position also find reaffirmation in our Church's NGO advocacy - www.pjem.org
